GaSP! Globalisation and Spatial Practice

This PhD explores the relationship between politics, borders and the fragmented spaces/places of the Turkish and Greek Cypriot conflict in Cyprus. It will focus on one special village in the buffer zone, which is the last remaining bi-communal village in Cyprus called Pyla (Pile). It will investigate the role of United Nations peacekeeping policies and the space created between two different ethnic groups, through focusing on the immaterial and material borders and territories in the village.
